Everyone, please disregard what modshroom128 is saying about unbricking Wii with it until we have any real confirmation. I believe he's just passing gas.

If its true about the Shopping Channel running a FTP server in maintenance mode, that is MASSIVE news

Wow I can only hope this tiny discovery can lead to a much larger one.

So what exactly is possible with this? Nothing so far right, just a cheesy message? Would be awesome if this allowed who knows what to happen!

For those too lazy to do it.

Also, it deleted my record of playing BWii for an hour from the message board.

Also, my friend has 2.2U and cannot get it to work. I have 3.0U and it works.

That's odd...
My Wii doesn't have an "ok" button, the message just slides down off the screen after a few seconds.
Anyway, I can't find that it does anything. Except delete things from the message board.

i think everything is tested allready and it wont help us anything..

I think if Nintendo plugs in some extra-deluxe super hardware XXL and then enters this mode, they can debug it etc .. but thats non of our buisness

Anyone tried importing a downloaded wii channel (one from a different wii, better if a game) in maintenance mode? I can't test it myself as i'm at work. :/

i would, but i dont have any VC games from other people..

well i copied sonic 2 to my sd, then rarred the private folder preserving the directory tree. just extract the 'private' folder to the root of an SD card and give it a go...

Do updates run when games launched through maintenance mode? Does freeloader run (original)? Is it reverting back to to stock firmware level?

Well, i copied my Super Mario Galaxy Save game in normal Mode and in Maintance Mode...
then i compared both... via Hex Editor... there are some changes in it...about 189 changes ;>
