Hardware Wii Frontman problems with RB2

All the songs play fine it just randomly cuts the connection and tells me to reconnect the controller. The wiimote still is plugged in though. The only way to get it back to playing is by taking the batteries out and turning on the wiimote again. Sometimes it wont happen after playing it. Ive tried this with two different copies of RB so far. Has anyone else had this problem?

Try new batteries. I think it might be that simple.

Thinking about it it might just be the battery cases too
