Hacking wii freezes after 10 minutes

ive modded my wii using the guide "Modify ANY Wii 4.2 & below" but when i play any game using cfg usb loader the wii locks up about 10 minutes into the game

what could be the problem?

your hard drive has a power saving feature that is kicking in after its idle for so long. Google the maker of the drive and download their software to turn off power saving mode.
