Hacking Wii does not recognize component cables and wont go to 480p

Hey marmalade, I'm wondering what the outcome was for you? I seem to have the same issue.

I've been having a similar issue. But it's only in the Wii Menu. Once I load any kind of software everything seems to correct itself And there are no display issues.

I will turn on my Wii with the component cables connected. Whenever I use the cursor to select things with my Wii remote, The picture gets all choppy. Sometimes the image turns completely blank. Sometimes when I boot it there is no image at all.

Maybe I just need a new set of cables? I dunno. But it's only a problem in the wii menu. As I said, everything works fine when software or homebrew is being displayed. The image never cuts out then.

I think your problem is that your Display/Monitor/TV's are not compatible with such low resolutions.
Make sure to choose EDTV/HDTV in the Wii Settings.
Make sure your TV has support for low resolutions. (480x640p)
Make sure you're connecting your cables correctly.

If still fails, try with another set of component cables.
If still fails, try with another Display/Monitor/TV.

It used to work fine for years and years in the TV I should mention. I'm definitely connecting them correctly .

I guess I'll try ordering another set of component cables. They might be old and damaged.
