Hi, I have a softmodded Wii 4.3U and heard that the new Opera browser supports Flash now on the Wii. Is this true? I just want to be able to watch internet videos that are Flash, which I think most online are now anyway. Just wondering if I can just download it somewhere cuz the older browsers just don't do it. Thanks

If theres a newer version of internet channel than the one you have, Im sure you can use ModMii to get it.

Ok, I'll try updating apparently the version of Flash used in the Wii browser has been updated from Flash 7 to Flash Lite 3.1-- which should make the Internet Channel much more useful :)

Wii main cpu is clocked at 729MHz.
My desktop runs on Sempron 2.4+ (10x166) and youtube@480p eats it with ease.
Flash based games are more cpu intensive.

How about memory requirements for modern web browser?

4.3 U Wii on the latest version of the IC. I might install a older version or try an emulated NAND because I am having some website compatibility issues.

There has been no update to the Internet Channel for a long time and the version of flash in it is the same as it has been for an equally long time. It was very minimally updated at the last Internet Channel update, but it is still not capable of viewing the vast majority of flash content on the internet. Also, there will never be anything that is exclusive to one colour of Wii, internally they are the exact same.

You cant compare it like that. They are completely different architectures, and the Wii isnt running winblows.
My laptop (Turion x2 1.8Ghz, 2GB ram, gf5200m) struggles with 1080p rips, while my phone (800Mhz ARMv6, 256MB ram) plays them without a single hickup. Its the same story with my tablet (1Ghz MIPS).

Is called hardware acceleration for video decoding and scaling.
I highly doubt if Wii have such features.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.

@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
