It probably seems like a pain in the ass that the transfers stop when there's an error, but if it didn't you'd be wondering why that game wasn't transferred. Or maybe not even notice it until after you've deleted stuff, which would be worse. I should probably pop up an error message and allow the transfers to continue though, rather than just stopping it. In that case, if you're not around to confirm it, it would still be paused until you get back. A pain either way..
Could you not skip the corrupted games, and show a popup at the end with "list of bad and non transfered games : " ?

For the new layout :
I like the current "simple and limited but efficient" view.
I hope you will add an option to select which version the user want to use, and not force the user with all the new windows around the main menu.
But it's a good idea nevertheless

Can I request for the "Maximum WBFS file size" to be back for the next version?
Sure. I'll add it again as suggested, with automatic and manual options.

1. Sounds like the best way for now. I'll add a results dialog for transfers, MD5 verification etc..
2. You'll be able to hide the top panel and side panel separately. So you can show the game info and/or the covers or have it just like now, with no extra panels.

I was actually considering changing the progress panels. A much better idea would be to use a batch job queue, with the progress shown on a different page for all current jobs. Kinda like the queue system in something like MeGUI or even uTorrent. This way there would be no need to lock any of the pages because everything is processed in a queue. An idea for the future anyway..

Is it possible to make an option to turn off the MD5 feature ? So that it becomes possible to make files identical to those made by wbfs_file.exe.

Thanks.

This is by far the best Wii Backup Manager available!

Could you add the partition and scrubbed/not scrubbed colums in the next version?

Great app, I love it! Can we get the automatic file size split as an option instead of automatic only? I like to split at 1gb just to keep things easy to copy over flash memory.

Greetings,

Great job on WBM! I've abeen using Ver 0.3.0 for a while and it is a really fine utility.

Today I updated to Ver 0.3.3, but was unable to see the WBFS partition on my USB drive (200 GB with 160 GB WBFS and the rest FAT, which appeared OK). Then tried Ver 0.3.2 and 0.3.1, both with the same results. I looked for an answer in this thread but waaaay too many pages

and search didn't help.

Any chance the bug previously reported in 0.3.2 Beta 2 Test 2 snuck back in? Run as Administrator, at least on 0.3.3, didn't help either.

Thanks and regards,

check again the preferences/drives/ and be sure the "see only mounted drives" is not checked.
As windows can't mount WBFS, with this option checked by default, they are hidden.

I have exactly the same issue.

From 0.3.1, by default, only drives with letters assigned will be shown. If your drive doesn't have a letter then untick "Use mounted volumes only" in Options>settings>drives like Cyan said. After that, just about everything that's possible to show, will be shown. The only restriction is that it doesn't show DVD drives in those menus.

If the drive still doesn't show then I could change the detection order to see if that helps. ie. volumes first, then drive letters. That would give the same behaviour as 0.3.0 and still allow network drives etc. to be used.

So let me know..

Edit:
The only person to reply so far that this was the reason for it was digdug3..

You are right with WBFS partitions not showing up because of the "Use mounted volumes only" option in the Settings.
(haven't seen any reply to that)

Why not make the option default for the sake of new users ?

It was really for compatibility. If you run the app on Wine or Windows 2000, you'll get an error because they don't support the functions I use to find the volumes.

Using only drive letters by default is more compatible with all OSes, so that's the reason.

I'm guessing that it worked for you?

I see.

@fig2k4: Maybe you could add (yes another thing to do.........) a test for Windows 2000/Wine and add a warning/information dialog about the drives...
The only problem is that people never read warnings....

The second thing you can do with os detection is asking for administrative rights when needed on e.g Vista or Windows 7. Otherwise you can't format drives.
If you want to I can test under all "current" systems (2000/XP/Vista/W7 64bit)

I am using version 3.3 and I have a question regarding the md5 hash verification.

What is the verification actually doing?

Is it verifying the md5 hash that was taken for the game by wii backup mananager against a known database of wii game md5 hashes?

Or is wii backup manager just recalculating the md5 hash again and verifying it against the md5 hash that wii backup manager calculated last time?

Thanks

On another note... This app is great!

As far as I know it there isn't a database with MD5 hashes yet. The MD5 hashes at WiiTDB are from full discs only. The MD5 hashes calculated here are from the game partition only. ISO MD5 hash calculation is not available yet.

@fig2k: Today I changed from WBFS to FAT. I selected all the ISO-files I wanted to transfer and during the transfer. One game, Wall-E, had a "(WBFPatition.AddDisc) Read disc failed. Data error (cyclic redundancy check)". This totally stopped the running Tread. Could you add a "continue transferring with errors" or "retry x times" to the settings?

O, man so much more wishes I have... The next version will be ready somewhere 2021...

He already said he will add it in next version (or any other, but it's in his todo list). edit: In fact he only said he will add a skip option and a dialog at the end of the process with the log and bad games.

I've another request :
On the Drive's tab "remove" menu, could you change the place of the "All" choice. Just to prevent deleting all the games with some clicking error
tongue.gif

For example at the bottom of the menu (like the Drive tab). Or at least just bellow the "selected" choice.

What does it means : "Automatically convert storage convention when drive is mounted" ?
