I'm just shocked: This game doesn't use the Nunchuck or MotionPlus on the main modes, only on mini-games... NES style gameplay, dudes. That doesn't make any sense!

"New technology has allowed for the development of innovative styles of gameplay, meaning Virtua Tennis can reach a level of realism not seen before in the tennis genre."

My first impression, when I found how the controls are was

.
Then, the second time I tried to play the game was

.
Finally my impression of the game is

I mean, I know Virtua Tennis is an arcade game. I played it in the arcade machines, Dreamcast, PC, etc.
But, we have a wii. We have a motion plus controller. Why not use it?

There actually is an extra mode for Motion-controlled gameplay! It looks very similar to this:

The strange thing is that the motion-controls cannot be used in the main modes, which I find completely unintelligible!

The thing is, that there should be the option. Then you could decide for yourself if you rather play with WM+, with Nunchuck+WM or Classic!!!

Perhaps with Wii´s final stages Sega couldn´t finish the virtua tennis 4 proyect on time and had to publish it faster.

fuck... I was hoping this game to use Motion+
guess we have to stick with Grand Slam Tennis

Well, until I try it , it might as well be better then GST.
For all I know, even with the simplified controls it might have pretty graphic, lots of options and an engaging gameplay with lots of trophies to win and a decent multi player.
I need to try it first.
There is this Japanese Golf game for the DS that doesn't use the touch screen at all. but it's really fun to play.
I hope this turns out to be awesome !

Yeah, there's a special mode for MotionPlus gameplay, IIRC it only has an Exhibition and Minigame mode. The main game is much more expansive, but only works with arcade controls (Wiimote sideways).

Honestly I think it's for the best, but my parents think otherwise.
