ok, so i heard about these...
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/390312
http://www.gadgetmadness.com/archives/2007...n_two_steps.php

i have the driver form the afterdawn one, but my computer isnt an acer, so i cant use the exe's included.

with the new driver, my computer sees the wifi plug as a normal buffalo tech. wireless usb thing.

i need to know how to set up the thing so i can use it for homebrew/wifi games

i think it currently is set up trying to find wifi, but my computer has wired internet...

(i havent tried using the thing from gadgetmadness [but i think i would get to the same place])

can anyone help with anything?

i think you're supposed to ask such stuff here: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showforum=60
and, those exe's don't require an acer from what i know, at least not if you overwrite them with the modified ones included in one of the zip/rars you downloaded.

anyway, i don't think it's worth it.
unless you're lucky you'll spend an hour setting up the software, and then 5 hours trying to make it run stable, and then you'll be searching your house/room/backyard for your wifistick because you threw it away out of frustration.

i just bought a wireless router, stable internet for laptop and nintendoDS which needed about 15-20 minutes to set up.

wifi router adsl modems are pretty cheap to buy now and so are ACCESS POINT either usb or ones that can plug into your wired router are cheap enough now

thats what I did in the end and its the best thing I did as it gives wifi access to all the ds consoles we have in the house and also feeds the laptop wireless access too and cost me £15 including postage for a wireless access point that plugs straight into my 4 port wired router modem
