I remember seeing somewhere that the ds/ds lite could boot homebrew via the download play option.
Was wondering if this could be used on the DSI or if it was blocked. If it could be used I wonder if it could be
coded to boot a nds flash card so we could use a m3 real or regular acekard. Then keep it on and add a softreset to homebrew so you could go back to the card's menu without having to do the wifi trick again. keep your dsi plugged in and put in sleep mode when not is use.

is this possible?

or use the downloadplay option to help us in dumping firmware.

I havn't seen this discussed much in the other threads but maybe I missed it. Let me know what you think.

edit** thanks for the additional info. I didn't realize that the it only worked fully after the firmware had been hacked.

In reality, this only worked on the DS Phat. After that it was blocked.
Won't work.
Nonsense, the WFC wireless transfer protocol still works on most regular DS/DSLite units if they've got FlashMe installed. You're thinking of WifiMe, which used the WFC protocol and a hacked Download Play image to act as a virtual PassMe and boot a slot-2 device in DS mode. This is the exploit that was blocked as of DS firmware 3. Very easy to get the two confused though, I'll admit.

Point is, loading homebrew via wireless only worked once the DS had already been compromised, so I highly doubt it would work on a DSi.

Well yes, but there's no FlashMe for DSi. It was Wireless MultiBoot that allowed you to boot homebrew as a Download Play image. Got the two confused for a bit.

So could roms or custom download carts be edited to transfer homebrew from ds phat/lite to dsi??? assuming the dsi will boot in ds mode when using ds download play you will only be able to play small roms or homebrew i guess???
