hi im going to get a wii some time this week and a game but want to know if the online gaming is able to go on online still if my wifi is set on wpa2 unlike the ds?

You'll need to set up the connection in your Wii Settings (it's accessible in the bottom left-hand corner of your Wii's System Menu), but once you do, you'll be able to get online for games, the Shop Channel, and other things. You can store three different connections on your Wii if I'm not mistaken; just set one up, and use it to go online.
