Do PCI wifi cards that arent RT2500 chipset work?

I've been searching and reading the forum, and i havent found any info on this?
-I'm flat out exhuasted about trying to get a wifi -connection, so any help ios GREATLY appreciated.


And can someone explain about making an Acess point.

No, they do not. For making an access point, whatever card you've got would need to have the ability to do Soft AP. Nonetheless, if it's not an RT2500, most likely still won't work. You're either stuck with having to have a router as an access point, or getting an RT2500 card/Nintendo's USB WiFi.

So if i have it right... i need to establish a Soft AP. And once that happens I will be able to connect to Nint. Wifi.

Can all routers, establish an SoftAP.

Well...all routers should be able to create an access point...or else...they wouldn't really be routers

Soft AP is something only a few PCI wifi cards are able to do, in which the card emulates an access point. But, even if you do happen to get a PCI card that can do soft AP, it'd still have to be an RT2500 for the NDS to recognize it. If you've got a router, or you're in the process of purchasing one, that will be all you need to connect. You don't need a specific brand or model, any wireless router should work.

I think i'll look for a router [ is there anything i need to specifically look for when choosing one? ]

I viewed nintendowifi.com and a few routers they tested didnt work, i'm not sure why though ??


I've also read that Marvell chipsets [PCI cards] also have a driver that supports SoftAP.

Install the SoftAP application... search the forum... you should find the link
