Hacking Wi-Fi doesn't work with my flashcart

Hello! I've just started on the new Pokemon White and I'd really like to get wi-fi working on it.

I have an Acekard2i on my DS Lite.

I've tried connecting at home, with my wireless router, and other places with wireless, like Starbucks or my library.

It doesn't work.

Can anyone help?

The DS requires WEP encryption. It will not work with WPA/WPA2.
I would guess that most public hotspots are using WPA/WPA2.

Are there any advantages to using WEP? I've heard it's less safe.

The only advantage is that older shittier hardware like the DS will work with it.
And yes, it can be broken by anybody that knows enough about computers to google a guide.
