Just got a DSi and I'm greeted with the tak icon. What's the reason behind that?
They had to make it be with a tak icon. The new NIntendo 1.4 firmware blocked the Flashcarts. So the Flashcarts had to pretend to be a real game so that NIntendo won't block them.
well, the acekard 2i's icon shows up, and that's why I became puzzled.
It pretends to be a DS game to bypass the DSi's flashcart block. The EZF team used Tak because it's a lesser-known game (to avoid lawsuits i guess). Some other carts use Danny Phantom or Star Wars though (and the iPlayer uses Fish Tycoon)
oh, i see. I just tried to start up the acekard2i and it was detected as a flashcart
If you update the Acekard, it shows up as "Danny Phantom Urban Jungle, THQ".
Yea same here but mine came pre-installed so mine reads Tak automatically.
If your EZ-Flash Vi came with the black and yellow sticker, it is updated with the 1.4 update. If you have the older grey and white sticker, you will have to manually update it.
Only if you use it on a DSi, if the AK2i is 1.4 flashed it will still maintain the Acekard icon on DS Phat & Lite models.
that is what i like about acekard2i because it can also do that
Yeah, and this could be why next DSi firmware will block ak2i again (same could happen to iPlayer).
I'm big N, i check this trick to block it.
