IVe played the new dk countries, almost finished dk64 like 2 years ago but I got bored of the collect a thon. I am playing 3d land right now and the game is simply amazing. It's a real shame nintendo doesn't make more games like this. The 3d effect actually works well for this game as opposed to other games. Any thoughts as to why people don't like platformers anymore?[/QUOTE/']
Two words SONIC BOOM

3d platformers usually have sucky controls. 2d platformers often have lazy level design and physics.

people like it, but its rarely done well.

Yeah I wish Somebody could make a mari0 port to the 3ds Now that would be the day

I usually find Platformers to be casual games to play, so typically the fun I get out of them might not be as much if I play some other genre game.

I actually have more fun from casual games.

Deeper games like rpgs or text based games are more about evading to their story, something I really like too

Thats why NES and SNES games hold a special place in my heart. Had some of the best RPG and platformers.

I love platformers. Those were part of my childhood.
I heard that. Platformers like SMB and Adventure Island where some of the first games I played in the earlier 90's.

I have like all of the old ga,m,es for gba and nes because that when platformers were amazing like megaman and Mario. And when kirby came out for the gba I bet people went crazy. Kirby and the mirrors curse was amazing to me u could call other kirbys to ur side and freaking blow through enemies and bosses like nothing

Now go play Final Fantasy 6.
You won't be disapointed.

Well then, at this point, you literally can't play any video games with killable characters ever again, right?
No in kirby U actually see the characters respawn and the characters dont even die. Plus I could only attack those who I cant run away from or give mercy to
