I don't think it's just for points or just to be a jerk, beginners usually think you have to use a lot of special moves to be good. It's just a matter of winning, they still don't have the skills to win without spamming, so that's the only way. This game should have a ranking of sorts for online play, because more advance people avoid spamming and try to use more defense, combos, and use better the special moves.

They spam for the same reason some CoD players camp.
They win, cheaply. Then use those wins to "compensate" for their lack of skill.

Also, third thread about Street Fighter spammers. Getting annoying.

Depends on what type of spamming you're talking about. If they're beating you with what they're spamming, then blame your lack of skills and not being able to counter, not the person in question. Same can be said about campers in fps games. If you aren't smart enough to simply throw grenades where that person is camping or pay attention, then you deserve those deaths you're taking.

Theres only a few types of spam i can think of.

The obvious one is just "HADOKEN! HADOKEN! HADOKEN!", which obviously is not that effective.

Then theres the guy who just crouches in the corner and abuses Shoryuken's the moment you get too close. Kinda effective, but most people would not fall for it.

Then theres the people that just abuse the same combo string over and over. (Kind of like what people do in MvC3). Which is the most annoying sort of spam. (Atleast to me)

Though, throw in laggers and lag delay, and thats when stuff gets annoying.

Oh it's THIS thread again.

Spamming has been around since SFII came out in arcades, and people like you have been whining since day one.

Either get better to beat the spammers, suck it up and get owned every game, or sell your game and go complain about another one.

well at least for me, i think it makes the game more fun.

Although i rage a lot, i don't quit and keep going at it, until i start winning and they start leaving the matches

People spam in Street Fighter for the same reason they spam in every other game.
People spam so that they can win, and they have no skill to win by other means.
