Gaming Why did Nintendo kill Nintendo zone?

They'll probably push an update. They updated the Wii to remove the broken News channel iirc

It's still in good use in the rest of the world.

Don't confuse the Nintendo Zone service (hotspot + over-the-internet Streetpass + [discontinued in north America only] website) with the Nintendo Zone app for viewing said website

You can continue, at least for now, coming here in Europe with your American console to use the NZ app

Nintendo's websites claim over 28000 Nintendo Zone hotspots exist across the US and Canada. Dubious as that might be now.

People that run the Nintendo Zone devices Do not care. I went 9 months with it down, I repeatedly complained to the management, and they knew nothing (big surprise) so after that many months of them ignoring it, I called Nintendo in the store on a cellphone (that's right I am that persistent) and they finally fixed it for about two months like a week after I did that, then it went dead again. I stopped caring completely after that because I got my pink pieces through that glitch

Nintendo only closed the Nintendo Zone service, including the indirect Streetpass, at the end of march 2018 - that's separate from having closed (in the American region only) the Nintendo Zone web content over a year before
