Oh, come on, the Allies built whole inflatable airfields, fake ships etc during WWII, and even had magicians try and hide the Suez canal, this is more than believable. I always find it surprising how real these things looked from the air when you see the pics from the ground too.

EDIT: But it's common knowledge over here that we did this sort of thing. And we get the stories of the first tanks (WWI I know) been camouflaged as water carriers, hence the name tank.

And on Firefox WWI is a spelling mistake but WWII isn't, lol.
