Homebrew Who uses their DS to play MP3/DPG

just curious as to who uses it as an mp3 player and a movie player

Nope. My admittidly outdated Creative Zen plays music and video files better than the DS.

Even the most basic of MP3 players does a better job of playing music, so no - definitely not.

I used it as a mediaplayer for both mp3 and dpg before I got my Ipod Touch, nowadays I obviously use the Ipod for that, much easier to use and better quality, plus it's not so big like the DS in the pocket. In my opinion the DS is just a option for using it as a mediaplayer when you don't have anything else, because nearly everything is better than the DS for that.

I used to use it to watch animé at school.
But now, I don't really watch video's when I'm out. But if I wanted I could use my phone, which can also watch animé on animefreak.

I used it a lot to watch DPG files on it. Watched some South Park on it and a lot of porn

But then I got my Creative Zen and I never used it again for multimedia playback.

Used to use the DSi Music Player for...well, music. Decent player but it's lacking the loudness... Now, my DSi has retired from music playing and that duty is now carried over to my iPhone 4.

The DS is a gaming device. I dont use it for music playback

I did until I got far better devices. DS is bad for MP3.

Tried it once for music back when I had my DS Lite, sucked the charge out so damned fast it was simply not worth the effort.

If you want music on the go, do it right, get the item made to do it right.

This. I actually started to use Moonshell on my DS for music, but my Zen is better.

well I use it for Music, and Movies but only like funny youtube clips I show to my friends. Well, I actually have the entire season of Flight Of the conchords.
Also some people (such as myself) likes the fact it doesn't go that loud. That way I'm not deaf by the time I'm 30

Well I use it for movies, mainly due to the fact that I will have it with me anyways (it means no extra video player in my pockets

i used to use my DSi for Mp3 Aac m4a files (damned you nintendo why didn't you just use mp3s for the DSi)

but then i got the YP-U3 cause it was on sale

I use mine for both. As I have 3 memory cards, my 8GB contains most of my games, my music and a few movie files, my 2GB contains the remaining games and a few more movies, and my 1GB backup contains key save files and a few more movies.
