my lite is perfect build, but sometimes i have slight issues with the touchscreen.. when i calibrate it the top right and bottom right corners (but especially the top right) become unresponsive. playing ouendan and selecting menus becomes so bloody frustrating sometimes. gonna take it down the nintendo service centre in the summer though to get it checked out, since it's in my town

Well, the guy said it was normal, because of the different quality of the touch screens (I have the grid), and it was quite shallow, you wouldn't notice if you didn't tilt the DS.

So yeah, mine's pretty much ok.

Just a slight yellowish on my touch screen and I got it a few weeks ago. Nothing out of the ordinary when playing a game so I am happy.

A couple of weeks ago I did a same sort of topic. Read this:

Need I say more?

No sir you need not say more. let me ask you something. the gbatemp is no ordinary forum it is not a dwarf size forum. I believe it will take us years to read all of the forum contents. as a boarder i felt like contributing something for the forum. I had no clue that such threads must have been there. as soon as someone asks something or tells something which is already there on the forums someone draws the sword and all set to attack. I ask you did I hurt anybody in the forum by posting that new topic. I suggest we should quit these tendencies of ours or we will lose the number one spot on internet. AFAIK i didn't ask here can i run gba games on slot 1? can anyone pm me roms? hmph you have just spoiled my day and allright boardies no pictures of the laminated ds. I am quitting the forums and berlinka should be blamed. Shaunj66 Costello.. guys please close my account. and close this thread if it is so painful for the fellow boarders. good bye all.

First of all, lemme tell you something right here.
A DS is made to be played, not "laminated" for some reason unknown to me, you, God and the Sentient Universe. WTF?
What if you have to piss and your fingernails were too long, are you gonna "laminate" your penis by slipping on a condom so it doesn't get scratched? What the hell is that shit anyway?

Second, don't be overreacting like a big pussy. Some guy comes in here and goes "Hello there! Tee-hee! I have created a topic just like yours! Bye-bye!
wub.gif
" and you spontaneously combust into a seven-headed dragon and vow never to post here again? How did you survive through highschool? Did you "laminate" yourself so punches slid right off your chest?
Eighter stop taking the Paxil, or take some more man. I mean - Welcome to the real world. You'll be pissed on much worse than that. I guarantee.

bought my DSlite on the day they launched in new zealand
no dead pixels, perfect dpad, solid volume slider, no cracked hinge, touch screen is fine, no yellow tinted touch screen etc, infact the only fault with my DS is I rubbed the serial number off on the back

Basically the same with me, except I'm in the USA, and I didn't scratch the serial number. The L and R buttons are a bit yellowed from being touched, and there's a little bit of grime in between the clear plastic and the white inside the clamshell, but otherwise it's mint. I use an Invisible Shield screen protector.

My first Onyx DSL was perfect, well... Its touch screen broke after 2 months but that's somewhat my fault. Nintendo replaced that unit with another, now I've got a little bouncy touch screen. But that bouncyness decreased with use, so I have nothing to complain about.

Oh and my girlfriends pink DSL is perfect too, except the hinges are stiffer than mine, even after use. I don't know wether it's a problem or a good thing.

my onyx DSL is perfect. no dead pixels, perfect hinge, etc. however i would say i must have screwed the battery or something, because it dies sporadically, sometimes after a few hours, sometimes after more... believe me i've looked this stuff up. real pokemon diamond cart will kill it, without wifi, in maybe 2 hours... R4DS playing anything at all, the battery seems to last all day long

I've owned a total of 3 DS's......2 old-style and 1 DSlite.

My first DS had 2 dead pixels in the top screen and I exchanged it. The second one was (and still is) still working perfectly. I have since sold it to my niece after I bought the lite and she loves it.

Now I have a black DSlite. As far as I can see, it's essentially perfect. No dead pixels, all the buttons still work, d-pad is fine, no hinge cracks, the screens are centered in the casing well and no issues with the touchscreen. I bought it about a week after black became available in the USA.

I do see a gold color between the left area where the two parts of the hinge meets, but I think that is normal and you see it more just because it's a black DS.

As for scratches....those are gonna happen no matter how careful you are with it, but I have screen protectors and the "Retro" skin from decalgirl on it, so those take the beating instead.

I consider my DS as perfect as I could hope for.

EDIT: I guess it would be worth mentioning tthat I don't take my DS everywhere with me. It's a home diversion. This is not to say that I NEVER take it places, just that I don't most of the time. That could be why mine hasn't developed any problems.

i also have a wierd pixel on my top screen. its not dead or stuck. it looks like as if there a microscopic waterdrop on my screen. its kidna shiny i guess. dunno what it is
