I was 19. I remember it well. I worked as a bartender at a local golf course/retirement community. I had a patron that frequented my bar, who was a retired FBI agent. They pulled him outta retirement to investigate Hani Hanjour, one of the hijackers, who received pilot training out of Mesa, AZ. Mesa is about 15 miles from the center of Phoenix.

My birthday is on 9/11 and I remember being at home opening my presents and the news coming on about it on the TV. I immediately stopped opening my presents I have yet to open the unopened ones it just didn't seem right for some reason.
