Hacking while trying to change wii from E to U, bricked.

alright, infectus is about halfway through. This is a spain wii. wiishop Code = 105.
but, this wii practically is virgen. The nand backup was taken ONLY with HBC installed, and bootmii installed as IOS.
btw, do you know why did priiloader stop working? when i installed it, it said it ways using ios 58, not 36

Thats the thing, i didnt touch system menu .

It is a bit bizzare - if it's in the NAND backup, it should remain there unless System Menu was altered.

its not in the nand backup, but i installed it afterwards. hmm.

Here it is, this report was taken AFTER i softmodded the wii again, Nand backup is practically virgen (only HBC and bootmii as IOS is installed)

Also, Dop-mii is giving me code dump, and one more thing...
i activated region hacks in priiloader, but im getting an error has occurred when the disc is loaded up. I cant even load disc channel. what can this be?

What i want is native NTSC retail disc loading, without any loaders, and fixing the greyscale video mode, be it changing system to U, or some other improvisation and keeping it on E, like what i did in ARC.

Last case scenario, ill leave it with that banner brick and keep it like it is, spoofed to U version.

The first thing you'd want to do is either downgrade IOS36 (not recommended) or install IOS236. According to your SysCheck, you already have 236, but it doesn't hurt to re-install it just to be sure that you have the latest version. Next, install AnyRegionChanger and Dop-Mii: WiiBrew Edition. You want to start with changing the Area setting in ARC - make sure that you're using IOS236 and that you do not have any mismatches. Your Wii should now behave as a Wii from a different region despite having the standard System Menu. If you wish to switch to a full-on U one, return to the Homebrew Channel. From there, launch Dop-Mii and install the System Menu from NUS. Be extra-careful, make sure that you have a recent backup handy and that both PriiLoader and BootMii-IOS are installed in case you'll have to rollback - there's no point in soldering the Infectus back on each and every time.

EDIT: Then again, re-installing the System Menu will wipe PriiLoader anyways, so what's the point...

To make sure that you have recovery options, do not return to the System Menu - return to Homebrew Channel instead, go straight to either Dop-Mii version you prefer (or rather, whichever works) and install PriiLoader first, that way, regardless of whether the new System Menu will work or not, it should give you the option to launch PriiLoader.

EDIT: Just read the Edit. Start off with AnyRegionChanger, then with Dop-Mii. Do not return to the System Menu after installing it before you install PriiLoader.

1) Just use a different version of Dop-Mii/a different IOS/cIOS for installation (preferably IOS236).
2) There's no reason to remove stubs before you're done. Ignore stub IOS'es unless you need the slot for something. If Dop-Mii spits out errors, you can remove the stub with AnyTitleDeleter.

I saw Foxi's tag (thanks for that), I was just reading the topic.

First to address Priiloader's Region Free patch. Some people have had serious stability issues with their System Menu after enabling (myself included) such as buzzing noises and freezing. For others it works perfectly. The most likely cause is that there are multiple versions of the patch and that one or more of them cause problems, resulting in the instability. At one time I planned to look into it, but since there are so many other ways to load games from other regions (and most people with games from a different region just pirated them), I never got around to it.

Next, region changing. This has been addressed by several people already, but I'm pointing it out anyway just to make sure you (hopefully) don't do it again. There is no reason to change your Wii's region. There are literally dozens of apps (all of which are safe) that allow you to bypass the region check. Any decent USB loader will let you load retail discs as well.

Third, your original brick. It wasn't a region brick, it was a full brick. The giveaway was that there was no sound. If you are getting a black screen after using AnyRegion Changer, then it means you changed the video mode to something your TV doesn't support, but you'd still get sound. Something messed up in Dop-Mii, which isn't that surprising as it's very unstable. Use Multi-Mod Manager in the future, it is a much safer and stable alternative, plus it has more features.

As far as fixing a code dump, that's not something you can do without changing the source code. A code dump is used to diagnose the line of code that was running when the app crashed. You can just press RESET to exit back to the loader though.

Finally, I strongly suggest you download ModMii and remod your Wii from scratch. It's been used by thousands of people and is considered by most to be the best option for modding. It will generate a custom guide (with videos) based on the options you choose, and download everything you need.

The problem is that on the TV's in question, the System Menu either pops up in grayscale or not at all - he wants to switch to his native region because of that, not because he couldn't boot games from other regions - those worked just fine. Is there a way to force a System Menu to boot into NTSC rather than PAL? It would seem like a useful patch.

I missed that part. All he should have to do is use AnyRegion Changer to switch the "Console Video Mode" value to NTSC, and nothing else. He'll probably get a warning about mismatched settings, but that's okay.
