MJPEG, WMV, and AVI (MPEG-4 SP, DivX, Xvid), while MPEG-1, and MPEG-2 are supported, but must be transcoded with the included software (Video must not exceed the player's dimensions at 320 × 240 pixels
And there's the SD card slot too, though I heard it's a pain to use.
From what the Microsoft website for Zune says:

Not enough new brands out there. I hope that one day, they will release an awesome brand just like Creative, that is new to the buisness, and will become a big hit!
Good... AVI saves a lot of trouble when converting, since pretty much all my videos come out as AVI after being converter from FLV. Does that mean the Zune has a SD Card slot? If it does, it'll make it better than expected. Read a few reviews on how it sucked.. so getting scared of getting one now. And the Zune I am looking at is the Zune 4 and 8. If they don't have an SD Card slot, this'll be complicated...

I am using a Zen Vision W.
Its big bulky with a low quality screen but I love it.
You can't even find those anywhere now xD. I might get the Zen 8GB if the Zune has a few issues that I can't seem to solve.
