Then why not treat each emulator as just that. My original point was that I'm trying to decide which is the best to go with. I don't want to have multiple emulators for the same console taking up space and creating confusion for myself (and also for those whose systems I hack) Can you relate to that point?
Of course we see your point. People are only countering it with an argument because you're making comparisons to other emulators compatibility lists when it's apples to oranges.
The scope of this project would be entirely different than a compatibility list for other emulators.

It would probably be more in line with a spreadsheet than a list anyway.

I get what you're saying, but the immense size of RetroArch makes this a monumental undertaking. There are at best 24 cores running on at least ten platforms. That's up to 240 "emulators" to test and keep track of, with several thousand ROMs to test. Even if all you paid attention to was the 3DS, that's still twenty-four emulators to test thousands of ROMs on. BlargSNES has a very incomplete list of SNES ROMs (IIRC, the SNES has over 750 titles in the US alone). If you only concentrate on the platforms you're interested in, that leaves at least eight emulators to test on.

As previously stated, a monumental undertaking.

@Drak0rex You could have just researched a bit and see that in this thread, there is a list of emulators by performance on each console wich notes if it plays at full speed or near full speed or can't be playable unless certain conditions are met. https://gbatemp.net/threads/retroarch-emulation-thread-nightly-builds-included.400913/
Yes. I read that. I wasn't sure if that applied to all games as different games sometimes demand different settings from an emulator to run well.

Besides, how are the devs supposed to make improvements if they don't know which games don't work?
