Been over a year since I last had a hackable switch, I was using sx os, this isn't a post to have a war or flame war on one cfw over another.

My basic use is Homebrew/emulators and playing back ups, I own plenty of games already but there are some I want to "obtain" and try before I buy it. Yes I'm one of those, I prefer legitimately owning physical games. I've only used sxos in the past. My main reason will be playing final fantasy 7 new threat mod, pokemon let's go and shield/sword mods. I own a non hackable switch where I go online with and all that stuff.

What are the benefits of sx os over atmosphere and vice versa? Paying isn't a problem. These are hackable on any firmware as long as they are unpatchable? I've read somewhere sx os allows you to have cfw and bootable ofw? Can someone expand on that? Would be nice to have my official stuff as well on one switch and not have to carry both when I go somewhere.

Unless you care about loading XCI files, it is recommended that you use Atmosphere.

At the moment not really to be honest, there is no main difference? XCI you can just drag and drop, and the nsp are installed correct?

That's correct. You can also install XCI files as if they were NSP files using Atmosphere.

There are some under-the-hood differences, and SX OS has actually stolen a lot of the code from Atmosphere. A couple of differences off the top of my head are that Atmosphere typically pushes out compatibility updates quicker after new Switch system versions are released by Nintendo, and Atmosphere has some security features that SX OS doesn't have.

Other than the above, they're mostly the same.
