I have a few VC & WiiWare WADs installed on an emulated NAND. My question is where are the saves located?

What I want to do is back them up and play around with'em. I'm having an issue with Super Mario World saving my progress but not saving the amount of lives I accumulated. It'll reset back to the default 5 lives if I leave and come back another day but still be at the point on the map that I left on.

thanks guys

In subfolder \title\00010001\xxxxxxxx\data, where xxxxxxxx = TitleID in hexadecimal; for example, \title\00010001\4a414145\data for Super Mario World (USA). On the other hand, the ShowMiiWads app could be useful to backup all the savedata from your emunand.

You can also just use SaveGame Manager GX, you'll have to set it up in the settings, but it'll allow you to manage saves on both NAND and EmuNAND, even back them up to SD/USB. I'd recommend grabbing the latest beta version as the latest stable release had issues, if I remember correctly.
