Hacking When will Gateway 3DS start playing multiple games on a microchip?

I was thinking, games could be stored on 3DS SD card, the exploit would run a rom launcher (basic black & white GUI would be enough) and would image it to the Gateway µSD card, this way there's no need to deal with the partition thingy and it's a convenient user-friendly solution, you'd only need one 8Gb µSD card and a big SD card to store your games...

Why do ppl think that we atz GBATemp are godlike creatures that know this kinda stuff ?

Yeah sure half of us are Gateway, M3, Supercard, Acecard devs, however why should we know that despite this ?

Just exposing my idea and try to talk about it with people, I'm not asking for any approval...

Yes but why?

It's literally the same as me talking about my idea for a rocket mission to the moon. It's just ridiculous to even talk about? Why are you talking about it!!!!? Why!!!? Whyyyyyyyyyyy!!!?

...I'm actually serious here, please explain and don't take this the wrong way.

What you're talking about isn't an "idea", it's a "wish". An "idea" would be a detailed explanation or concept explaining how your end goal could be achieved. Your "explanation" is not an explanation on a technical level, there's no technical theory behind it, merely a bunch of "wishes" joined together. The "wish" makes up about 0.000000000000000000000000001% of the actual work to implement the "idea".

I know you're not seeking "approval", but you are seeking discussion so by implication, you're seeking approval that it's a discussion worth having otherwise nobody will discuss it.

I'm not seeking approval of my post either, but I am genuinely seeking something...an explanation of why you think that the discussion is worth having?

Because this is GBATemp and he's asking in the 3DS Hacking & Homebrew forum, and in a thread about playing multiple games on a micro SD card? To be quite honest, I don't see another place that's more fitting than to have this kind of discussion.

Sorry for thinking this thread was to speculate, providing ideas and develop those with the other people in it...

You're misunderstanding me.

It's like this, "we" - as in all of us here who don't have technical knowledge are "fools"...That's me too, I'm not having a dig at you, and talking within the context of technical discussion.

So, I'm only really asking, what's the point?

If you put a million people in a room who have no knowledge of this kind of thing, all the discussion in the world won't make any progress. You put a couple of people together who have experience with coding and they might come up with something.

It's really not personal.

That just gives some kind of validation that it's not an off topic post/thread.

The point is that throwing around a very basic "principle" doesn't add or further anything.

It's almost patronizing to the person posting to even accept it as anything other than pure popcorn.

Does this come down to intellect, it's pretty simple surely?

It's the same to the letter as me going on a forum by people interested in flight trying to work out how to get a self powered flying machine to work....and I suggest they use a bin liner/refuse sack cape...

Surely that's fine too then? No it isn't, tolerating that kind of thing is the reason the internet is what is today....!

The fact you're putting so much effort into something so trivial only adds to the irony. Tolerating this kind of thing is the reason the internet is what it is today....!

Except, this as in my post isn't the kind of thing that's tolerated today, you're post is tantamount to affirming that.

Lol, I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna continue such a meaningless debate. Let's agree to disagree. I believe his post was in the right place, you don't. Let's end it there. :)
