You should try to have an even amount of ram and in the right channel so it's DDR2

DDR2 533 = PC4200 (sometimes called PC2 4200)

So I should aim for 2 1Gb sticks, since it only has 2 slots, right?

Also, it is as easy as disassebling the shell of the computer and just inserting the RAM into the slot, sort of like putting in the micro SD card into the R4?

I looked on Frys.com and found a 1G RAM stick for 20 bucks, so this should be a cheap and profitable purchase!

Yea, 2 of the same for best performance.

They will only go in 1 way, tabs at the top and bottom of each hold it in.

get 2 identical sticks of DDR2 533.

basically the pins are like this on the stick

one side has more than the other
you gotta make sure that they match the slots on the board.
then push it hard in until the pins on the sides click in securely.

Okay, I'm not home yet (Mom decided to stop by the Apple store, so I'm browsing GBAtemp on a beautiful iMac :] ) but I already bought the RAM. THey had 2 1Gb Kingstons for 70 dollars, and that was the ONLY deal. I found that an extreme rip off, so I just bought ONE 2Gb, which cost me 50 bucks. Much better. Since apparently, my computer can only handle 2Gbs of RAM, I guess I'll have to take out my old RAM and replace it with my new 2gbs.

I did hear you. However, I've had a bad experience with newegg, and also, I'm not even allowed to order things online anymore. I've got a paranoid mother, and the only things I ever bought were my DVD burner and my R4DS.

It's fine really. IN fact, she paid for it because of my god grades this semester :3 So I didn't have to pay a single cent. I installed today; very very easy. However, I only notice a very slight difference. I thought it would make a huge impact since I went from 512Mbs to 2Gbs, but I guess not.

You used 1, 2GB Stick right? That's probably right.. DDR/DDR2 RAM is better with 2 of the same kind of ram.
