Hardware When cleaning my Wii laser a small piece fell from my Wii, since then

Hi,
My Wii had some problems reading games, so I disassembled it to clean up the laser. A small piece fall off my Wii and I don’t know where it belongs.

Here are the pictures of the piece.

The piece measure 3.5 cm by 1 cm (1.37 by 0.39 inches )
I tried to start my Wii without the small piece of plastic. I can insert and eject disc but when I insert a disc the Wii mechanism “shallow” the disc and put it in the middle of the Wii but the disc don’t start spinning !!
I can still play WiiWare.
I need help so I can fix my Wii; I’m a student so I don’t have a lot of money.

But sadly it doest not solve the problem...
I'll have to buy a new Wii drive at dealextreme for 45$ (including shipping) with perhaps a new modchip...
