As I'm seeing various China wholesellers, who probably offer fake DS Lites (Deal -Extreme I guess too), I'm wondering what's the difference between a real DS from Nintendo and a fake one. Is there a difference at all? Can they ruin normal carts, not work with flashcarts or do anything bad?

And how are they actually able to make fakes?

most of time they are rebuilt DSL. The issue comes form the power adapter that gets packaged with these can cause fires because cheaply made.

i got a yellow pickachu ndsl @ xmas for my son it came in a small box with a seperate charger (which ive never used) like the fakes
i took it apart & it had all official nintendo insides so i think mine was just reshelled (fingers crossed)
it works fine with a cyclods evo & ez-flas4 lite deluxe & the few official carts i own

Oh thanks! I want to buy some consoles from one wholeseller (natelsuisse.com if you're wondering), so I wanted to check if there's any difference.

Is this the same for other consoles such as Wii, PS2/3, iPods..? I'd guess no, but who knows
