Yeah, what Akoji said. Probably around 80-90% chance. Don't forget to try 480i and 480p though. (That affects some PAL gamers)

ssbb working on a pal console isn't a completely lost cause. i haven't any experience of playing ntsc-j games on my pal wii, but loads of ntsc-u games have worked, mario and sonic at the olympics, manhunt 2, zack and wiki, mario galaxy, endless ocean, geometry wars, simpsons, and probably more.

according to the wiki compatibility list, mario galaxy JPN didn't work on US systems, so I highly doubt that brawl will work...

It did work. It should be blue on the wiki, not red. Aside from the fact that you had to semi-brick your Wii to play it, the game worked.
