I've seen the term tons of times... but what is it? Any help is much appreciated.

A clean ROM is a ROM that has not been modified at all. EG, straight from a real cart.
(No patches, triming or anything done.)

Yeah. Although it's getting rarer, sometimes the scene doesn't release a clean rom for certain regional variants of games. Some early GBA titles were like this (meaning they only were available without an intro or trainer when you make your own dump).

I remember that!
I'm glad that the scene does not stand for that crap anymore.
Now, if a rom is modified by the dumper is is called a nuke.

It's a rom that washes every day

Jokes apart, this term was first used in NDS Scene when NEOTeam released modified ROMs that only worked on their FlashCarts, using a fake Group named GST.

The only reason there are no intro's or trainers for the NDS is that the ds "scene" is non-existant - nothing but a joke, and no group can code an intro to include. If they could, the scene would certainly "stand for it".

QUOTENow, if a rom is modified by the dumper is is called a nuke.
I think we all know what a nuke really is, and it can be because of a thousand different reasons.

A clean rom is one without semen all over its chin..

It's a ROM that has no STIs. At least that's what it told you, but 3 weeks later you can't stop scratching your balls.
