So, I remember that I once asked here in GBATemp about "anybody has a hi-res game trailer or something?"

Somebody told me there that I can record my own gameplay with a video recording application, the problem is, now that I have a game to record, I simply forgot the app's name..................

Can anybody tell me an application that you can use to record your monitor? I tried to track my topic, but somehow it jst disappeared, I tried searching with keyword "hi-res, trailer, anybody", no luck

Probably Fraps.
It's a good video recorder, only records inside games and such, it doesn't lag your game a lot because no on the fly compression.
pirate or buy it, don't use the trial, 30 second limit and ugly watermark.
fraps is definitely it, there is no alternative!

XFire has decent screen recording too, Fraps uses less resources though, but XFire in return has built in video uploading that uploads to XFire's own video streaming site.

Much easier than recording, then converting to a smaller file so it fits on youtube, then uploading it.

I'd go with fraps anyway, it uses a lot less resources.
