My birthday was about a week and a half ago. Before my birthday, I sent emails to family members with the presents I wanted. From all of them I either got the gift, or an equivalent amount of money. Except one. I asked my Grandfather (the wealthiest person in my family as far as I know) for this stuff:

DS bag: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-b6-77-...1by4-43-8s.html

DS shell: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-b6-77-...1ibi-43-hl.html

DS game case: http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-hr-49-en-70-1zfz.html

DS sleeve: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2949 - This one has free shipping

Navy blue DS lite: http://www.mkenterprise.com/product.aspx?D...CategoryIndex=0

I got the navy DS in the mail today, but he sent me an email 2-3 days ago with the shipping info for the rest of it. But the problem is, it was COMPLETELY different stuff. This is what he got.

I got the stuff in the mail yesterday, and I want to know how to tell him it's the wrong stuff, but this kind of stuff isn't my thing. So how should I tell him?

you are really selfish. someday when you grow up and your grandpa is long and gone you will wonder why you were so self-serving towards someone who just wanted to make you happy on your birthday.

Sorry if I came off as selfish, but my biological dad (who lives near my Grandpa, in Oklahoma) told me that my Grandpa asked him to see if he could find any of it cheaper, and my dad said that I probably already found it the cheapest it could get. And this isn't the first time he's done something like this either. I asked him in the email to get that specific stuff, and he said on the phone he would get it too. And I know the reason he got the other stuff isn't because he can't afford it, like I said, he's the wealthiest family member I have.

i think i agree with everyone else your selfish and immature... i think you should be happy with what you get on your birthdays and live with it... on my birthday i got a bike what i really wanted was a external hardrive (300gb) but i got a bike do you know what i did instead of complaining to my perantsi learnt to ride my new bike...

Take what you get and be gracious about it. Never, ever, look a gift horse in the mouth. The character of your future self will thank you for it.

See there theorgan? It's not that hard to say what you mean without insulting someone. Consider that a free clue.

I was very thankful, even though my Grandfather got me not what I wanted, but something very similar to it. It was the best birthday ever!

My birthday was a couple of days ago, know what I got? $100, of which my Mom promptly "borrowed" $60 for cigarettes and instant lottery tickets. Now shut the hell up.

I thought about it, and listened to what you guys said, and I realized, I was being a little bitch about it. I was being an ass, and I'm sorry for being one. I'll keep the stuff and use it till it breaks (which I hope never happens).

See guys! Mthr was right! No flame wars = everyone happy!

Oh man, even imagine getting a DS for your birthday.
I'm 22 now and I've never received anything remotely as expensive as that.
I got myself a job and bought mine.

Well, I'm not going to comment, just wish you a late happy birthday
