Gaming What just happened???

Today, I just re-formatted my wii. I have a 3.3E system menu without internet enabled and it was all fine until I inserted Wii Sports Resort.
It asked me for an update, and seeing as I couldn't be bothered doing it, I ejected the disk. Suddenly the disc channel
kept prompting me for an update. Even when I inserted Zelda Twilight Princess, the wii keeps prompting me for an update, even though Zelda has no update.
I turned off the wii and re-formatted yet again, but to my surprise, the update was still there. I then gave up and accepted the update.
The update finished, but when I checked my system menu version in the settings, it is still 3.3E??? wth just happened?

Any ideas? I'm really curious and interested to know if this bodes ill for me...

Twilight Hack for 3.3 still works...

If you accepted it while the was still no disc in the drive, it probably didn't do anything at all.

But if it did something thats not always bad.

An update means that there is an IOS missing on your system, which the game needs.
Its only sometimes that the system menu is updated as well.
