I think the main reason no new software exploits is that a hardware one is superior. they usually can't be patched without a hardware revision, so why release something that will just be patched next update? if you thought nintendo's security was bad, it's way beyond sony's. do you realize people were able to log in to psn with a idps of all 0s, 'til it was patched? their arrogance is their undoing. they never prepare for anything, so maybe that's why they joined hackerone? imo, I think sony may be the lazies, possibly even the most incompetent, of the big three.

true you can cfw a ps3 using a ti 84+ SE graphing calculator...

on an unrelated note, I've been at this psx classic artwork thing for hours. I'm renaming everything. the playlist seems to be created based on the checksum of the game, not the game name, so I'm renaming almost everything, then I've gotta rename the png files. I'm going to consolidate the playlists as well. I think all this info is retrieved from the playstation database. since I had no databases, I believe that may be partly or entirely the reason artwork wasn't working at all. the checksum is the sha-1, md5, and crc32. I'm not sure which it uses, but the playlist uses crc32 yet the databases record the sha-1 and md5.

on a related note, some people laugh at the fact that the switch, the older models, can be hacked with a paper clip. speaking of which, my first 360 tutorial is about resurrecting a seemingly dead rechargeable battery pack. iirc, two of the six slots are for charging, two for discharging, and 2 for determining battery level. if you use a paper clip to join two points, it can drain the battery completely. I think the issue is related to a false amount of juice being read. it gets hot almost instantly, but it works. it takes a few tries to get it to work, but I managed to get it to work with a couple battery packs before I just started removing the batteries then using them as is. inside a battery pack are two double A batteries connected to a logic board. you can pull them off, but you might need solder or something to melt the connections. batteries will still work in either case.
