I never buy games you can essentially only play once, because they are too much like a story only capable of being told once.

I don't care how great the first run through the game was.

I bought Civilization V because I am aware I can play it as often as I wish to play it.

Just watched a young lad finish Battlefield Bad Company 2. Great looking game, but I have no desire to pay 60 some bucks for a play once experience. Yeah I know, nothing stopping you playing it again aside from you know how it ends.

Well, I enjoy a lot of games.
Some games I can play over and over again and some games I just stop after playing it through.

Pokemon games can really never end [IMG]. There is so much to do, and its time consuming.
where as game titles such as.. well lets say Lego Star Wars, you get bored after you played it through. Dont think you would want to play it all over again. that does not mean you didnt like that game.

I enjoy games that are well made that when played I can tell actual work was put into them. Also, I enjoy games that have amazing music, part of the reason The World Ends With You and Phoenix Wriht are my favorite DS games.

    Anything with a good story.

    so...basically
    -RPGs
    -visual novels (they're technically games)
-story based eroges (visual novels with nudity)
-the occasional obscure game of a different genre (The Darkness, an FPS, comes to mind)

    also,

Play NIER (PS3/360) if you can. Or just listen to the soundtrack. It's fucking amazing.

    This should be a poll.

    Me?
    My fav games atm are:

    • Have
    • Minecraft (surprised someone hasn't already mentioned it)
    • Portal
    • The Legend of Zelda series
    • Pokemon (white atm)
    • Civ V
    • RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

      Waiting for:
    • Portal 2
    • TLoZ: SS
    • Minecraft adventure mode

From that list you can probably tell what types of games I like.

I agree with the fact that paying for a game only worth playing once is not worth it.

Bad Company 2, however, is very multi-player oriented. In fact, all Battlefield games are. If it's your type of shooter (not as fast as CoD, definitely requires teamwork), you would definitely enjoy it.

I like adventure (Zelda, Pokemon, etc.), platform (Mario, Sonic, etc.), and "creative" games (Minecraft, WarioWare: DIY, etc.) the most.

Games that allow me to sink alot of hours into. Like a good monster collection game.

I enjoy too many games. That's why I play a lot of them at once and don't concentrate on just one or two. [IMG]
