I want 2 new games.
I currently have;
Heros of Ruin, Mario Kart, LoZ, Dead or Alive and Kingdom Hearts. (+ pre-ordered pokemon)
I'm thinking about getting lego city the chase as its fuckin free roam but not sure.
What other games should i get?

have you tried the Monster hunter games, they can be hard, be when you learn how to play it, it gets easier but still can be hard

you can get a easy 100h+ out of the game

Played the demo, couldnt get the easy monster down and the whole game just frustrated me D:

Its such a shame that monster hunter needs a specific type of gamer to enjoy it, the game is fantastic and is my fave game on the 3DS by far.

Im not sure there is anything other than MH and Lego city that is really "free-roam" but you could try -Tales of the abyss- Its a Real time RPG and has a very long good story and the battles are directly controlled for the most part and you explore the open world like in any RPG.

Some others id highly recommend - Resident evil: revelations, Fire emblem: awakening

[Edit] Poster below me posted gunman clive - DONT get that, its ok sure but its short and you'll play it once and never again, i wouldnt normally recommend against a game but even for its price its not worth it.

I can recommend Fire Emblem Awakening and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate myself, both are awesome games. Other than that, Animal Crossing (if you like that type of game), Denpa Men (funny RPG from the Eshop), Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move (infinite levels with the online distribution), maybe Zelda Link's Awakening and the Oracle games (coming next week) from Eshop as well (if you haven't played those yet, get them like NOW, if you have still get them) and Crimson Shroud (Eshop game as well, currently on sale. Really nice dice system, not for everything you do, but some skills and stuff like ambush (dice determine how many rounds enemies/you can't attack), it got no Exp system (like Monster Hunter btw), so you have to get stronger equipment (again, like Monster Hunter), definitely worth the 4.99)

Don't get Heroes of Ruin. I ended up playing it for 50+ hours, and most of this was online helping out newbies. This game is dead easy - I like to play a class that can heal people and or give people free stuff. No crafting and it being kind of glitchy make it pretty bad.

Mario Kart is good, if you like racers. I'm not a big fan, but I still play MK7.

I would say Monster Hunter 3U, but it has a specific learning curve. I'm still getting good at this, and I haven't reached the absurdly high level quests. It's also pretty grind-ey, finding weapons and stuff that you need. :)

I haven't played LEGO City: The Chase Begins, but what I hear of it causes me to advise against it. It's free roam, sure, but the graphics are bad even for the 3DS, and while it's free-roam, there's so much fog EVERYWHERE (seriously, the trailer reminded me just a bit of Superman 64's fog).

I would strongly recommend Kid Icarus: Uprising. If you can deal with (or are willing to learn and get used to) stylus aiming, it's an incredible game (my favorite handheld game of all time) with tons of replay value, great online mode, achievements, etc. And the story mode is pretty long (I put at least 12 hours into it on my first playthrough). You can also get a good thumb stylus from dealextreme or eBay (only about a dollar) that completely removes the cramping of the stylus controls.

Aside from that, Star Fox 64 3D was good, but really short (so get it at a cheap price, if you can). Super Mario 3D Land is a cool, fresh Mario experience.

As for games I haven't played, I've heard amazing things about Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon (which has a great online mode).

I think that list he gave is games he already has, not ones he's considering getting. ;)
