Hacking What class micro sd card is best for ak2i

So i was tryin to play a game called Spongebob Atlantis Squarepantis.
And it kept freezing on the 3rd level.
also mario hoops 3 on 3 kept flickering on the touch screen.

Im using ak2i. Akaio 1.8.6a

I was using a Sanddisk 8gb Class 2 micro sd card.
After trying Everything to debug.
I decided to format a No-Name 2gb Class 4 micro sd card. And both those games worked flawlessly with no flicker and no freezing at all.

I thought one of the so-called nicest features of acekard was that it could run any size card with no lag or wut ever??
Well apperantly not. So The class of the card definately does impact the performance of the acekard?

Should i buy an 8gb CLASS 4 micro sd card then??

if so what brand do u guys know of or does brand even matter. Its all about the class?

Class rating, which is the (write speed) minimum used for transferring data and writing game save information which doesn't affect game play or lag only the amount of time moving files around from say computer to card. Some people believe that If the class speed is higher the (read speed) will be also. Sometimes that ends up being the case but mostly the read speed of any card will be unknown until you test It yourself to find out for sure because the manufacturers don't give you that information. Use a program called, H2testw 1.4. It will test your cards and give you the read and write speeds in mb/sec. Reading speed is the most important thing for flashcard use because that alone will determine how well your software will preform on a flashcard. I have tested around 20 different brands and different classes at blank, 2, 4, 6, and 10 and my fastest reading card ended up being a 16 GB Sandisk class 2 which reads at 26mb/sec which is pretty amazing speed for a sdhc card. As long as you can find a card that an read at over 14mb/sec you should be able to do most things with no problems except maybe video playback which might lag or skip slightly. Most cards read between 6-30mb/sec and no card is exactly the same as the next. As you can see their can be major difference's in speed depending on the card and It really comes down to luck of the draw.

So the write speed. is almost insignificant. In terms of how well the games games play off a flashcard.

what matters is the read speed.

I used the program you mentioned & the 2gb card that runs the games perfectly reads at 13 mb/s
The 8gb sanddisk that freezes reads at 11 mb/s

can only 2mb/s really make that big of a difference??

Also, what you are saying is there is no way to know approximately how fast the read speed of a card is?
& the read speed can be faster or slower regardless of its class.

So in other words i would just have to keep buying micro sd cards until i found one the had a fast read speed?

Are you sure there isnt another method in which i could atleast narrow it down to a few cards so i dont have to just buy a bunch of cards and hope one has a fast read speed?

Question 1; yes
Question 2; yes
Question 3; It's making the difference because it's right at that threshold where It's falling below lag free read speed. Also It is possible that the 11 mb/s one is failing.
Question 4; Only way I know of is to test the card.
Question 5; Yes It can be faster or slower regardless.
Question 6; No, the best way to get a fast reading card is to buy one from someone that is willing to part with a fast card they are selling that was tested. Many people sell cards with H2testw 1.4 results posted.
Question 7; I bought a bunch of cards because I needed a bunch of them between my phones, camera's, and flashcards but If you just wanted one ask the seller of a card If they would test It for you to determine the read speed then buy If It's fast enough or just find someone that already has posted the results. I don't know a way to determine read speed of a new in package card and I'm not sure If anyone does.

Not the case. I think N.M. Zero B.C. is on the right track.
I has to do more with the reading speed of the card than the class.
My sister lent me an 8gb sanddisk class 4.
It still ran the mario hoops with a flicker on the touch screen and still forze the spongebob atlantis squarepantis game.
