So I have had homebrew installed for a year or two now, and I've been burning discs, but now I have an external hd that I bought for college. I'm sure my cios is very old, so I was wondering what ones are REQUIRED or recommended for USB HD loading. Also, all I do is stick them on my sd card and use wadmanager to install them right? Is there a required version of wadmanager needed? I have wadmanager 1.3

Thanks for helping a somewhat newbie.

Also, do I only need ONE cIOS installed, such as the newest, or do I need multiple ones for full game support?

Install Waninkoko's rev17 http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/cios/waninkoko
rev19 is available and has the capability of using any IOS as a base instead of just IOS38 which rev17 uses.
If you choose rev19 I recommend using IOS57 as the base.

Install Herme's cIOS's http://sites.google.com/site/completesg/cios/hermes-cios
I recommend using v4 to install cIOS223 using 38 merged with 37.
Use v5 to install cIOS202, 222, and 224

I recommend Configurable USB Loader.

I agree about rev 17 & 223.
But I use hermes rev 4 for 222 as well and use ios 60 as a base.

I find usb loader gx more user friendly, but you have to find a stable version. The latest is often quite buggy
