Newbie here - help appreciated

Hello. I am a complete Wii newbie, and I just bought one from a guy that used to play games from a USB stick.
He has Homebrew, CIOS, USB Loader GX, etc. A lot of stuff. Unfortunately I did not get the stick...
I got hold of some wbfs files and copied them to a usb stick of my own, each in its own folder and with the proper code name.
I inserted them in the right USB port but the USB Loader does not read them.
Only shows a blank screen.
What am I missing here?

Use modmii from start to finish, or use this guide to get a syscheck.csv and drag and drop it onto modmii.exe and it will tell you what to do

Depends.
Is your USB formatted to FAT32 and 32K Cluster Size?
If yes, then:
Are your games in the correct route? That is:
USB:/wbfs/name_of_game_[GAME ID]/ID.wbfs
For instance:
USB:/wbfs/Mario Kart Wii [RMCP01]/RMCP01.wbfs
If yes, then:
Are you using latest CFG USB Loader or USB Loader GX?
If yes, then it's probably your USB not being compatible with your Wii.
