Obviously my intent was not going in that kind of discussion.
Obviously, you can boot the system and enjoy the vast library of gameware available.

But regarding the firmware itself, if there's an obligation to update it for a game (and yes, thy point, kind @thorasgar, is valid), the game itself will do it.

My naive reading of it is:
If the system is blocked from the online services, but it's functions are 100% intact, why having the worry to update? Just game on.

I'd love to see the Youtube app on the consoleware (thus, being banned is not an option for me), but that still seems far away in time.
If in a couple revisions of the firmware no new come, I'll hack it like a good boy, but for now, I'll just backup my NAND and wait.

I don't think you need to pay 20$ for Youtube viewing.
The 20$ are for that retro gaming thing that Nintendo sells as a grand service and other stuff.

For safety, I flat out sent an email to Nintendo about my Switch asking if it had any backstory logged. As I purchased it used, I want to be safe. Or else I return it and make a hell of a screaming display at the store.

Ugh it's been almost a month since the uploads on that subreddit was updated...
I prefer getting from there because I don't have to trim the XCIs myself, but it seems at this rate, I'll have to start getting new stuff, like the MHGU XCI, somewhere else.

My Google Drive said it was last updated August 8.
