So a Luma 5.5 re-enabled safe mode boot for A9LH users, but it's pretty pointless right now since you can update from mset, but what if we replace the safe mode updater with FBI?

Right now if you brick your 3DS by installing a bad font or modded home menu, you will have to restore a full NAND backup just to fix those titles, having a recovery mode CIA installers means you could recover your 3DS by reinstalling clean versions of those titles instead of restoring a NAND dump and risk losing recent activity log entries and/or streetpass hits.

would probably be a LOT of trouble, but if it is possible it would be great

What is the purpose of the safe boot? With a9lh you can already swap out the arm9 payload to boot into decrypt9/emunand9/... So what extra does the Luma age boot do?

Did we forget about GodMode9? Just back up the Home Menu from it and restore it if it bricks. Simple.
