Hacking what about changing the path of the wad uninstaller?

Would you like the WAD uninstaller to look for wads in a different directory ? (say , unwad instead

Uh.... one step forward, but two steps back?

Let me get you started on a few ideas that would actually be beneficial:

+ NAND browser -- browse the Wii NAND with full read/write support.

+ .TIK lister -- Lists Title ID and the corresponding channel name.

+ .TMD cleaner -- Remove .TMDs that have no content on the NAND.

and last, but not least....

+ VC WADs with built in uninstaller.

let me give you an example :

- I installed Defend your castle "region free" on my wii , but it didnt work.
- at the same time , jayparadox released his homebrew launcher bannered channel , and i got pop wad ready to install.

==> if we had a directory for installing , and another one for uninstalling , we could do both at the same "sd session" (without running back to the computer)

Im with lou_weed on this one, why not make a standard tree structure for wad applications.

Like,
sdroot:\wad\"application name"\

examples:
sdroot:\wad\wad-installer\
sdroot:\wad\wad-uninstaller\
sdroot:\wad\mii-installer\
sdroot:\wad\mii-extractor\

Well this just goes back to my idea over in the ticket installer channel where I said the wad installer/uninstaller should gave you a list of wads on the sd card and let you choose which one you wanted to install/uninstall. Then you wouldn't have to have 2 directories and could actually keep all your files on one sd card.

of course i'd like an SD-Explorer , with pointer and drag-n-drop support, but i just pointed at a small improvement that would make a major improvement...

Brownstone's idea is preety good.

We need folderstructures to keep it organized, I believe there will be tons of applications in the future and we cant just put all files on one directory, its stupid and mezzy.

I didn't say drag and drop display or anything like that lol... I simply meant take the technology of SD Elfloader where it lists the elf files on the sd card and you just use the directional pads to go up and down. You could do that with the Wad installer/uninstaller. Instead of installing/uninstalling every wad you have in the directory, give an option to select the one you want to add/remove.

Even with a folder structure it would still just add/remove any files within those subfolders. Without a way to select the file you directly want to install/uninstall, you either need 2 completly different folders, one for installing and one for uninstalling or you need a file selector.

Both already done.

Source?

I believe you're speaking of NAND Dumper and Title Lister, both of which are infant stages of the tools I'm talking about.

The NAND browser I'm talking about would let you write files to the NAND, allowing you to upload custom Wii menu themes and such.

As far as Title Lister is concerned, it lists everything but the corresponding title, so you have no way of telling what the ticket is if it's a custom injected channel.

The source code would be more appreciated than anything right now.

Agreed.

Then you wont have to double store wads in a install and uninstall folder which i suggested earlier. Kinda stupid when I think about it.
