Hello, my network route is WPA2 and I had to change it to WEP for wimmfi. Is there anyway I could use something else because I'd rather not keep it on that setting. My iPhone SE connection is not supported with the DS.

Nope. It is hardware locked to WEP or nothing.
You could get a secondary router (any goodwill, garage sale, jumble sale... will likely have some they practically want to give away) if you wanted (maybe mac filter it, hidden ssid and more if you are concerned about the security).

what I mean is there another program I can use to setup a hotspot that uses WEP. Or if a computer can setup a hotspot?

I assume your router does not have a secondary/guest network option as you might be able to drop security there. Forgot to mention that first time.

Also yes you can set up a connection otherwise. In this sort of thing most people bridge old ethernet only devices through a laptop onto wifi but the reverse is an option too.

Depending upon the OS you will want something like https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=virtualrouter , to fiddle with the command line https://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-WiFi-Hotspot-Using-the-Command-Prompt or fiddle with https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027762/windows-use-your-pc-as-a-mobile-hotspot.

tried to all 3, can't get them to work/my ds won't recognize them. I might just give up because i really dont want to pay money to get something just to set this up, I mean I'm able to switch the WPA2 over to WEP but it's my parents' router and I don't want to bother them (I did it once and I successfully was able to launch DS wifi)

Few remember it today but the DS did was very picky about the access points it joined. As all three of the links at the end will be using the same wireless card when all is said and done I am not entirely surprised.
