Hardware Weirdest Error I've ever encountered.

So, I got my switch, day one and all that. Now it will only power on and boot properly if my headset is plugged into it. Yep. Only that way. If i power on without headphones (any pair, i have multiple) it gives me the error code 2153-0321. This happens in any mode, docked, tv, tabletop. no matter what. Thing is, it was fine earlier in the day. Now, no matter what, the ONLY way i can play it is if my headphones are plugged in. If i power it on while the headphones are in, and take the headphones out at any time (immediately after, after 5 hours of playing, etc.) it crashes with that error

Called Nintendo so I can send it in. But was wondering if anyone else encountered this bug.

Have you tried updating it? I've not connected mine to the internet but works flawlessly.

Its already been updated. And my phone is dead so cant take a pic. Just imagine you playing zelda, you take out your headphones, and you hear a slight buzz, then the black error screen. Or if you turn it on without headphones in, it'll get to the switch logo, then error screen

Seems to be a hardware issue, couldn't you return it for a replacement?

I mean, i can, but i got the neon joycon edition. my store doesnt have any others and i doubt they'd swap me just a console

It's only partly functional so if I were you I'd return it in full for a new Switch unit whether Grey or Neon, just as long as it'd work properly. I don't even care about my Joy-Cons, I've only been using the Pro Controller.

Can you enter the Recovery mode or does it crash there as well?

im suuuuper particular about special edition stuff. so id just send it to nintendo after i beat zelda. I mean i can still play it, just have to use headphones.

sounds like it's a short at the audio parts then.

You are between a rock and a hard place with that one. Could be a short somewhere and it could get worse. If you send it in now there is a chance they will fix it or transfer your save to a new tablet. Keep going and risk loosing the save.

I had an issue once with my wii that burned out cause i played too much in a day with Twilight princess, long story, I sent it to nintendo and they send back another console with same nand including save. etc maybe they will do the same with switch.
Im sure they are aware savegame are important to players
