Gaming weird problem with headphones

ok im having the strangest problem thought it isnt the same computer nor headphones that this is happening with.
sometimes when im using my ipod headphones on computer (with remote and mic) or if i using my nokia headphones (remote and mic) i cant hear voices when listening to like music and videos i can only hear music its really odd how do i fix this
