I have a Xiaomi Air 13 (2017) laptop and the battery life of mine is horrible, or so I think it is.
Most of the time, with airplane mode on, brightness at 50%, battery set to the level just above power saving mode on Windows 10, and using the integrated graphics, playing a 1080p video for instance gives me about 2 hours of battery life.
But sometimes, under the same circumstances and settings, I get 4 and a half hours of runtime. It varies from time to time after every charge session (to full of course), and either get very good battery life like about 4 and a half hours, or only about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
And this is all doing the same thing; watching 1080p videos with VLC with the settings mentioned above.
I noticed another something very weird as well.
When I was done watching and had 2 hours and 30 minutes remaining of battery life, I opened paint to paste a screenshot and save it. Immediately after I checked the estimate, it said 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Just like this I noticed if I for example turn on WiFi, browse for a minute, and then go back to airplane mode. My battery life of 4 hours reduce drastically to about 1 or 2 hours minutes later.
Also please note these are not just Windows estimates, my laptop runs for the same amount of time estimated as I use it and I time it. The estimates are very accurate as well anyway.
So basically my laptop battery life seems to fluctuate under the same kind of usage.
What can cause such behavior and how can I fix this?
Thanks in advance.
