Hardware weird disc read error

My wii will play games for a few minutes then get a disc read error. so far its happened every time. My warranty is gone and I was wondering if there was an easy fix.

I'm having the same problem.
It says:
"The game Disc could not be read. Please refer to your Wii Operations Manual for more information"

Use verbatim dvd-r. I had the same problem with platinum-r. Verbatim fixed the problem.

Im talking about actual game discs not burned copies.

It seems you have a case of dying laser and/or a dirty lens. You could try with some of those cleaning DVDs you can easily buy in electronics shops out there to see if it helps.

I believe that shops like future shop and bestbuy sell these wii lens cleaning kits licensed by nintendo. Try one of those.
