Hi i just got a new switch but i noticed that the charger makes a weird buzzzzzzz sound when i plug the charger but no when its conected with the console

Basically plug without connecting with the console = buzz

Plug to the console = no sound and also charges well

Should i be worried or this is normal? I never had a switch before and noticed that some poeple experience similar stuff

Official charger?

Seems like it,it says HAC-002 (japan) and i haven't noticed any issues so far

I seached a little and apparently it's a close to offical clone by team YYC

If it is making a sound it is a good indication there is a problem with the component inside, probably best if you swap it out a replacement official charger, it should be quiet when it connected to the wall even if it has no switch connected to it.

This is pretty common of power supplies. Called "coil whine". Taking 110/220v AC to 5-15V DC has some side effects and the components inside are designed to counter this. Sometimes one component sucks at it's job and starts resonating. It's not necessarily a sign of a problem, most consoles have some form of it. Some sound terrible and still work. Of the two dozen consoles I send out weekly I'd say at least half have coil whine and work just fine. PS5s have been doing it from day 1 supposedly due to a quality control issue.

Well currently I did a full charge from 20 to 100% without problems so i guess it should work,I would get a official one eventually since I got the console without a charger and dock so I hope this one works on it since it uses the same voltage

Finding chargers here is a pain in the ass since you only find nyko ones ask considering what their docks did to some switches that's a big no for me

Also i didn't notice any overheat on the charger or the console so that's a plus

If it's not loud and you have to put your ear up to it to hear it I'd say it's normal.

Not that loud at all, just a weird buzzzz when theres no sound in the room, let's say that watching tv or playing you don't notice it but again when it's plugged on the console theres no sound at all

It's tough to say what chargers are safe to use, or which docks will be suitable. This is the case with all electronics really. Sometimes stuff just ends up having issues. Obviously, super cheap things are less likely to have good safe design in mind. I see a lot of switches with failed M92T36 no damage to port. Does the chip just fail? Does the charger/dock send the wrong signal and damage the chip? Does the customer somehow cause damage to the chip? I almost never see the charger or dock of the switch I'm fixing so it's hard to make assumptions. If it works, use it. I would; even with a little noise.

Well I menaged to found the real source of the charger, apparently is from china and reviews about it seem to be positive with dock compatibility,I would use it moderately just in case but so far no problems at all
