Working for me here. It's rather impressive, but the slowdowns are a bit annoying. Any way to speed up the refresh rate other than using less colours?

Well considering the DS has very small amounts of memory, I guess its pretty fast.

Try turning of your desktop wallpaper? Im not sure.

Im getting the same "unable to intialize vnc client" error. I have my settings EXACTLY like yours.

Mm sometimes I get that error too, have you tried just re connecting, sometimes you have to just re connect.

I try reconnecting but it doesn't do anything. I just usually turn it off and redo it.
